WILL YOU GIVE IT A SHOT?

Aside from making it possible to grow my hair from

this

to this

there's another favor that God has given me when the school year started. Yehessss!
But first... I'm already a senior!!! Yay! And excuse me for not dropping by and saying "Hi" for a while. But I think I could work it out this time. =)

So.. Hi :">
And I guess I'll be updating this blog every now and then.
I'm really overwhelmed how I survived the last three years. I mean, there would always be a point that I'm so close to not reach the CQPA needed to be a senior. But yeah! Thank You Lord!!! Woo! Even though it's not my forte and all I just realized what I can do best for now :)

&&&&&&&&&&

Another favor is this :"> Hihi. The photos I've submitted in our school (Miriam College) literary folio were featured! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY <3 This couldn't happen without God's grace!
I mean, after that several downfalls He still loves me and knows what can make my heart smile =))
This is the first time that my work was published and you wouldn't imagine how I end up knowing about this. I arrived at school at around 10:30 and saw that the literary folio was being distributed at our entrance where all the students are REQUIRED to get a copy of this literary folio. HAHA. So in short, they don't have a choice but to look through this literary folio. XD And as I open it I was only expecting 2 photos of which they've told me that there were only 2 photos that were chosen so I was expecting that I'm only going to see 2 of my works that they've approved. And as I browse the table of contents I saw not just 2, not 3... but 4 Paula Key Bobadilla listed in the contributor's list. So I went through the pages and saw the following

This came to the last page of the literary folio. I glorified the Lord with my first week in school and for the 2nd week thisss XD

I don't really know what kind of bird is this :p but thanks to this bird because I got attracted to its voice while it was chirping. Actually, we don't really just use our eyes to witness beautiful things around us and take a snapshot of it. In reality we use our 5 senses; sense of feeling, sight, taste, smell and hearing. And what I obviously did to take this shot is to use my sense of hearing when I heard its chirp. When I heard the bird chirping I waited with what's gonna happen next. And as I see it moving with that small branch I immediately took Nana (my Nikon D5000 which I already sold :(( ) and took several shots until I came to this one. Indeed, PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE :)) I really love taking snap shots ever since! Because I know that those moments might never happen again so it was always like a do or die situation for me or a question saying that WILL YOU GIVE IT A SHOT?

This was taken in the same place where I took the photo of the bird in Pintong Bukawe San Mateo, Rizal and it is where my grandparents live so I was able to come to this place every now and then. In this photo, I edited it and make it look like a macro shot when I just used my kit lens in this shot. When I took this shot I remembered how we were fearfully and wonderfully made by God in Psalms 139. =) Sometimes we were so focused on the big things that we cannot see anymore that the small things we ignore were really the ones who makes us happy. =)

This landscape was taken at my photography class under Trumpets Playshop and was taught by the one who became the royal photographer of Bhutan Mr. Patrick Uy =) He was teaching us how the shutter speed, aperture and ISO work together. These are the basics you should know when you're learning photography. It is not that easy but you if you can do well with painting it's just like that. You have the color palette then mix it. Photography is what they also call as PAINTING WITH LIGHT =) Poor lightning will not make your subject pop out and other fundamentals in photography will help you do the trick. Don't be afraid to experiment! You have unlimited shutter clicks right their baby! TRY AND TRY UNTIL YOU DIE...(ehem) SUCCEED XD

And last but not the least! Hihi. By the way, this is one of my favorites. Ate Tess hand washed these babies and hang them at our balcony. When I went to our balcony I just imagined a frame in this kind of scenery. I always make it sure that the photo that I will take will tell a story. I remembered a poem in this photo saying:

I have a ballpen that is blue
I have a friend that is you
Flower will die
Water will dry
But our friendship will never die

Yah, I know. It's kind of cheesy but... Hihi. So what can we do XD they look like the bestest friends that many of us are hoping to have one. It is also said that

A real friend not always about loving and caring, but also slap you in the face when they know you're about to make the biggest mistake in your life.

Nuks. Soo true. I wish I could have that one true friend I would not trade for anything ='))

I didn't actually expected that these blessings will come forth. Like what I've said, after several downfalls I'm still on my knees keeping the race and hoping to see that Man who would say "Congratulations, faithful servant! I love you" Woo :"> Blessings to everyone! Have a fruitful school year and BE THE LIGHT AND SALT OF THE EARTH! :DD

till here!!
Jesus and Key loves you!!! <3

By the way, I just want to make you smile with this photo.
Haha. I made it through the meme generator in facebook.
Have a blast :D

AGNES: Answered prayer :)

I took this photo on my 2nd day in Baguio while everybody else are busy with their tasks. I've been asking my elder brother Christian to buy me a 50mm f/1.8 D lens for quite some time now. The lens can really shot perfect bokehs when you use it. He told me that he will buy me the lens if I would be able to pass our thesis proposal defense. But what really made me motivated to pass my thesis proposal defense is the statement that he said few years ago. It is that not all the good things that you've done should have come with a reward
That in everything you do you should give your best whether or not you'll gonna have a reward after a job well done. A good lens could help you capture a beautiful scenery yet it will not all be the basis of how good  your photography is. With the right angle, good composition, settings and most of all a passion with what you do will drive you to capture a very captivating moment. A lot of times these are times that cannot happen again or happens only once in your life so be ready to set your camera every time you travel ;)

The day I've received my 50mm f/1.8 D lens our dog Yuri became my first subject. This dog is kind of really old. He came to our house when I was 10 and I think he was 3 or 4 already that time. And  now I'm not sure if he's already 12 or 13. Normally dogs die at the age of 12 but apparently with God's grace he's still alive and kicking and still becomes our gate keeper/ "bantay" in our house. Hihi. He can really smell if someone entering our house is a bad person or not because he barks like a K9 dog if he can smell that you are a bad person ;p But he's very sweet and he's hair kinda fall because of his age. (Falling hair? Use Head & Shoulders) Haha

Since I have my new baby in hand I named my lens Agnes after the cute kid Agnes in Despicable Me. Hihi.

See you chicas! Happy Easter :*

Featured online shop for February (The Love Month): Love PreLoved Shoppe

After a month of waiting we finally came up having a collaboration shoot with Love- PreLoved Shoppe, one of my blog's partners. :)
I had my high school friend to come over specially because she has that androgynous look that gave a spice in our shoot for Love Pre- Loved Shoppe's 12th Collection. A lot of nautical tops, skirts and jumpsuits to love!
We start shooting from 1:00 p.m. and ended almost 3:30 p.m. already. But this shoot is quite faster than the other fashion shoots that I've done probably because I'm already comfortable with the model and I guess the way she practiced her pose in front of the mirror the night before the photo shoot really worked out well. Heehee :p
Anyway, I really loved this shop since I've met it's co-owner Chris who's also a frustrated artist like me.
He has a very good taste in terms of choosing the colors and the combinations that will really make you have that classic chic vibe. These photos were shot in their apartment at Makati last February 11. 2012. ;)

I'm sure you want to purchase one of these lovely babies too!

What is it like to be a Chicadora?

Hola! As I've promised. Tasting Art Photography will feature one online shop every month.
Last October 4 I posted in our facebook page here that Tasting Art Photography will cover a shoot for a lucky online shop for free. This project aims to help online shops market their collections and make it to the mainstream. And for the month of October Tasting Art Photography was so blessed to collaborate with Chicadora.

Chicadora is created by Kring and Iya, fashion enthusiasts with big dreams of being successful entrepreneurs. From their creative minds combined with hard work and love for fashion, Chicadora was born.

What's ironic with their shop is that  every collection they have mystery model/models that will wear their collection. How cool is that? Teehee! Their collections will make you an "it girl". Wear their collection and surely someone will ask you where you got your top. =)

If you guys would ask me why I chose Chicadora to be featured in the month of October. It's basically because the co-owner of Chicadora which is Kring have been one of my acquaintance in our Theatre organization in Miriam College. We've been classmate in Sociology class too. Hihi! Since I find their collections very unique and truly fashionable I immediately asked Kring if they can be featured as the first online shop that will be given a free shoot for the month of October. Kring and Iya talked about it and they both said YES :p

This is a teaser I made for their BIG collection. I had fun editing this one because I changed the color of the leaves from green to brown to give an autumn effect to the photo. Someone even commented
"nakaka-autumn!" hihi. I was really glad that Iya & Kring liked it so much. So there... tentenenententen...
The two models are... none other than...

Clarence Erika Masesar & Shaina Santiago

These girls really rocked Chicadora's Freedom Collection. The camera just love them and I didn't have a hard time editing their photos because they are obviously beautiful  already. I just enhanced the photos to make it clearer and for the buyers to see the collection's details.
Someone commented pa nga "Can I buy........... their kagandahan? :)))"  haha!
These two ladies have different types of character. Clarence being a shy type while Shaina being carefree. Though these 2 U.P. students have different personalities they managed to collaborate  and give
this shoot a taste that will surely make guys fall in love with their natural beauty and genuine smiles.

To find more about this collection just visit Chicadora's facebook page here!
Or click this for their Freedom collection.
Those are the photos that we've shot in U.P. Prices ranges from 150-200 php ONLY!!! How cool is that? Teehee! :p

Wanna meet the gorgeous owners of Chicadora?
Here's Kring and Iya! =)

Haha! You can see here how bubbly these owners of Chicadora are. They are super nice and very kikay. Hihi. Actually, Iya makes her own accesories. And her creativity makes her produce hand made accessories that are truly trendsetters. She has a blog entitled I nailed it! There you will see how fond she is with nail polishes and different nail arts. Cool! ^_^v
By the way, the vintage top that they are wearing will be out on their next collection so stay tuned!

Group photo:

Clarence, Shaina, Iya, Kring

I think we've been shooting for almost 6 hours because we started from 9 a.m. to approximately 2:30 already.     It rained after I took the group shot above. Woah. Cool right? =) God is really AWESOME for letting us finish this shoot before it rained. God's little miracles will always be unforgettable =))
We ate hotdog bun for lunch because we're sexy like that  (haha!) and ate sisig at the afternoon. Kring's Mom and Tita are very nice as well as the group. Hihi. Kring is so blessed to have her Mom support her online shop as well as her dreams =) And with that, I think I didn't had a mistake choosing this online shop to be featured for the month of October. I didn't just captured fashion portraits . What I captured here is beauty, relationships, genuine smiles, dreams and the true essence of being a woman. To be free and show the world how beautiful you are!

Behind the scene photos below:

Papers, exams, reports. Yes we've done it all. After all the hardwork for this tiring semester,

treat yourself with Chicadora's first ever big collection, Freedom! Filled with awesome yet

affordable pieces, this collection will surely be a treat for hardworking girls like you!

October Splash

Photographers: Junelyn Tabelin & Olivia Dela Rosa
MUA: Kerlyn Rufino & Olivia Dela Rosa
Taken at Forest Hills Golf and Country Club

I was the one who asked them to take a photo of me in this bulldozer. Hihi. I was thinking about Bumble Bee of Transformers while sitting here :pp

After roaming around the subdivision, we were amazed to see this kind of setting. So we didn't missed to take a photo of me sitting here. Teehee!
Sir Patrick Uy who was my teacher in Basic Photography taught us that if ever we might encounter a scenery that we have never seen before, we should take a photo of it. Because that very moment might never happen or cannot be seen again.

This is how my friends and I spent our October.
Actually, Ate Ava and I are the ones who originally planned this shoot few months ago since I have a month to enjoy my sembreak. We thought of doing something productive this month. Teehee! With our creative juices and talented crew we have come up to these photos! Yoohoo.
With our first theme we were aiming to kinda apply a gypsy vibe with the 7 in 1 dress I'm wearing. Yes, you heard it right. I bought this royal blue 7 in 1 dress a year ago basically to wear this after my debut party. But since I was exhausted already I didn't changed my gown with this anymore.
Here you can see 7 looks that you can make use for casual wear. With our shoot, we used the 4th look to give my body a shape and to come up with a goddess like look. Though we didn't came up with the gypsy vibe that we're aiming we still made the look quite nostalgic.

TRIVIA: We made Ate Ava's  black leggings turned into a turban. (Thanks for my sister-in law's creativity)
Hihi. Kung gusto may paraan, kung ayaw may dahilan.

To have the gypsy vibe, I think Ate Ava and I should thought of wearing something like these photos below:

1. Printed skirt

2. Accessories (with gypsy elements)

3. Bandana

4. The choice of color

Basically, we used one color for that theme which made the photos have the goddess vibe and not gypsy.
And technically gypsy looks are very detailed and composed of a lot of patterns that make their culture very distinct. Haha! We basically made an opposite outcome of our peg. We made the look clean and free yet my facial expression are quite edgy. I don't really like to smiling in photo shoots basically because I consider myself as a dead kid. :| HAHA.

Alas! I think we've made a blast with our second theme.

We've taken few photos with this shoot because we were so tired looking for a place where we can shoot in the golf course. There were people playing and we can't just jump in in front of them and take some shots. Or maybe wait for the ball to bump into our heads that will cause us to say goodbye in the world at this young age. :p Though we were so tired shooting all day we still planned to have another shoot in our free day.
And I guess it would be months from now since 2nd sem will start this November 8 already. Juju D:

I really had fun with this shoot. I really thank the crew; Ava Dela Rosa, Kerlyn Rufino and Junelyn Tabelin.
You guys made my sembreak very productive. And I thank you all for making this shoot happen.
Once in a bluemoon lang kaya to, sana maulit tapos si ate junelyn naman model :p
